Welcome to our new blog series where we introduce you to our wonderful Fireflies teachers! First up is Miss Pearl who teaches our smallest firefly dancers. Read on below to find out more...

When did you start dancing?
I started dancing when I was 4 yeas old.
Where did you train and what was it like?
I trained in ballet and contemporary dance back in my home country of Japan, and then came to London for professional training at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
My three years at Rambert School were definitely some of the best years in my life. It was very intense sometimes, but full of inspiration, many different experiences, and I had such a wonderful time!
What are your favourite things about teaching dance?
My favourite thing about teaching dance is that it is always my lesson to learn even though I am the one teaching or leading the class. Children have such a beautiful, unique and pure point of view which is always very inspiring to me.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue a career in the dance industry?
Don't forget the most important thing, which is your love and passion for dancing. And do not give up because you never know what is going to happen.
What is your favourite dance show?
I have three! For ballet, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker; for a musical, Mary Poppins the Musical!
